Orthodox Christian, Classical Education in Warner Robins, Georgia
Godliness. Wisdom. Virtue. Joy.
Envisioned in 2020, Saint Morwenna Orthodox Christian Learning Community is a group of families committed to education in godliness for ourselves and our children. Through the cooperative efforts of our families, we offer twice-a-week classes in the arts and sciences for young people in grades 7 through 12. All instruction will be in keeping with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Holy Orthodox Christian Church.
Who is Saint Morwenna
St. Morwenna was one of the many holy daughters of King Brychan Brycheiniog. She was trained in Ireland before becoming one of the Welsh saints who crossed over to Cornwall. Morwenna made her home in a little hermitage at Hennacliff (the Raven’s Crag), afterwards called Morwenstow. It stands near the top of a high cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, where the sea is almost constantly stormy, and from where, in certain atmospheric conditions, the coast of Wales can be seen. She built a church there, for the local people, with her own hands. It is said that she carried the stone on her head from beneath the cliff and where she once stopped for a rest, a spring gushed forth. The spring can still be seen to the west of the church.

Why Saint Morwenna?
It was an easy choice to entrust this work to the prayers of Saint Morwenna. This courageous woman of God labored to build a church with her own hands, and in the process, she attracted many local children, who she taught how to read. Depictions of Saint Morwenna often include children at her feet, and she was known for teaching anyone who was humble enough to be taught; men, women, and children alike. She is even rumored to have instructed the children of a king. May her fortitude, vision, and patient love for children guide us all in this holy work of education.
